On School

Who are we to sit in class all day?

Acting like we’re being productive and doing something worthwhile, but wouldn’t it be better to be lazy with this and rather choose something far more important to aim at, and do your best to achieve it.

Assuming you fail it’s most probable that you’ll still get somewhere, and that you’ll perhaps have other leads too to get somewhere exciting and new in your life.

It’s assumed that school and schooling is the default option to go about things because that’s what some workers and parents have done before and it has worked for them.

Today’s environment is quite convoluted and unclear. There’s no real job safety unless you’re exceptional, or doing mundane tasks.

School is great for learning, but it’s a great question whether school manages to match the expectations of reality. At least the people, and the skills that are sought after in companies. So that we’re only sitting in class for nothing.

Many students are not as privileged as I’m to have the opportunity for free or supported education which’s like a universal basic income.

What’s a degree worth? Why do people go to degrees like (art, music) etc when they don’t really earn much and you can’t get around in life because of that? It’s much better to do something technical and have humanities on the backpedal.

I’m not saying that school is inherently bad or damaging, but to have a proper sense of direction takes a lot of effort, self discipline and concentration.

If you take ownership of your work, and your life. You don’t need to be someone else’s pawn even though in the beginning it will take much more work to be self sustaining, or say. The income that you’ll be at least able to manage on with lower standards.

Not everybody has the grit or patience to live like that, or to be a minimalist or to say move back at home with their parents.

It takes courage to do such things, and resist the mainstream.

The evolutionary forces acting on us are quite heavy, and they take a heavy toll on the mind and the body.

There’s so much possibility in the world, thus sometimes it’s hard to know what to try to reach.

You want to help other people, but you can’t help other people unless you’ve helped yourself. You can “really only” change yourself, but by the act of changing the man in the mirror, as Michael Jackson put it. You can actually affect the lives of others.

Perhaps you can through that way help your family, your community, and the people you’re around with daily, but taking responsibility and showing up everyday is difficult because of the friction surrounding us constantly.

There’s always a snake or a monster, that’s trying to lurk negative and unhealthy beliefs or food for our throats and it’s an full time job to try to deter such and to be vigilant and focused. To solve them heroically daily, like a good politician who takes care of all the issues as they show up. It’s to have an eye on things.

To study well, to know how to act morally and ethically, to be a good man, to be able to provide and also be mysterious. To be in shape in all the ways. It’s a large weight not to mention epigenetics that can affect the different phases in our life and change how we feel.

We must be strong towards adversity and chaos, but we must take care to be kings of ourselves before we try to be kings of others.

If one cannot rule over one self, how can thy expect to rule over others.
